This image was procured from a rare portfolio of wood engravings and lithographs which delves into the culture and landscape of Australasia in the late 19th century. It accompanied the work of Alfred Russel Wallace (1823 1913), the British anthropologist, biologist, and naturalist. Wallace is remembered for
